Every co-parenting app charges per person — creating the exact standoff it is supposed to solve. FairSplit is free for both parents, forever.

No credit card · No subscription · No automatic charge, ever
Every co-parenting app charges per person. That creates a conversation: “Why should I pay $9/month for an app you chose?”
The result: one parent downloads the app, invites the other, and gets ignored. The app sits unused. The spreadsheet survives. The WhatsApp thread continues. Nothing changes.
This is the adoption standoff — and it is the single biggest reason co-parenting apps fail in practice, not in theory.
FairSplit eliminates the standoff by making the app free for both parents, forever.

FairSplit is free because the adoption barrier is the biggest problem in co-parenting apps. When one parent has to pay, the other parent refuses to join — creating a standoff that prevents either from using the app. By making FairSplit free for both parents, we eliminate that barrier entirely. Our future revenue comes from optional professional services (attorney portal, mediation integrations) — not from charging parents.
The core product — expense tracking, escrow, dispute resolution, court PDF export, Solo Mode, and secure messaging — will remain free forever for both parents. We may add optional premium services for legal professionals (attorney portal with advanced analytics, mediation scheduling) in the future. No feature you use today will ever move behind a paywall.
There is no catch. FairSplit does not run ads. We do not sell your data. We do not offer a limited free tier designed to frustrate you into paying. Every feature is available to every parent, free, forever. The product works because solving the adoption standoff is more valuable than charging a subscription that half of co-parents refuse to pay.
OurFamilyWizard charges $12.50–$24.99 per parent per month, billed annually. For a two-parent household, that is $25–$50/month — $300–$600/year. FairSplit is $0/month for both parents, forever. OurFamilyWizard's advantage is 24 years of court recognition. FairSplit's advantage is expense escrow, dispute resolution, and zero cost.
AppClose switched to $8.99/month per parent on January 1, 2026 — $17.98/month per household, or $215.76/year. FairSplit is $0/month for both parents, forever. FairSplit also includes expense escrow and dispute resolution, which AppClose does not offer at any price tier.
TalkingParents charges $77–$353/year per parent depending on tier. For two parents, that is $154–$706/year. TalkingParents' free mobile tier was removed in March 2026. FairSplit is $0/month for both parents, forever. TalkingParents excels at communication records and recorded calls. FairSplit excels at expense management and dispute resolution.
No. FairSplit does not ask for a credit card, payment method, or billing information at any point. There is nothing to cancel because there is no subscription. You create an account with your email and start using every feature immediately.
Yes. Both parents get full access to every feature — free, forever. There is no per-person pricing, no 'invite fee,' and no situation where one parent pays and the other does not. This is the core design decision: removing the adoption standoff that kills co-parenting app usage.
